This is a good question because there is a cost associated with the hiring of a coach and ultimately, next question, will it lead to a return on investment?
The answer is yes and these are reasons why.
To hire an effective coach there needs to be a desired outcome, not just because it’s a current trend. For example, let’s say a person lacks confidence with interviewing for jobs and they come across as being nervous and almost indecisive with their answers and approach to the position. Interestingly, many times the company hires someone less qualified only because they came across as polished and confident.
The person who was nervous and did not get the job, is now more anxious and worried if they will ever get the job or promotion.
This is a great situation to seek out and hire a coach who has this experience and expertise. The financial investment made in hiring an interview coach is invaluable, it means a rise in career, pay and a breakthrough in a person’s life!
The fact is people have anxiety about interviewing and there are psychological reasons. As to why. A life coach can totally change your experience with interviewing into one of positivity and less about being afraid.
A great example is myself, early in my career, I was so nervous because I thought it was better to talk a lot during an interview. I was so concerned about what they thought about me and the more I spoke the more anxious I became. I just wanted to get off the phone or out of their office as soon as I could.
I did not land any of the coveted jobs that would propel me forward in career. My supervisor then suggested a life coach.
He was demanding and very honest in the beginning. He then worked on my 90 second summary of my career (resume). He and I practiced many times over on video.
In less than one year after the coaching I did extremely well with the interviews and progressed to desired career positions.
I am now a coach and happy to help others as I was assisted in my interview and communication skills.
